CARY, N.C. — Tyler Corder, chief financial officer of Findlay Automotive Group, recently confirmed his participation in the upcoming National Remarketing Conference and Pre-Owned Automobile Dealers Alliance events. His group includes 22 dealerships throughout Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Idaho. Findlay Automotive was founded in 1961 and has dealerships representing 19 different franchises. Findlay Automotive Group was founded by the late Pete Findlay in 1961 when he arrived in the Las Vegas Valley from Panaca to open Pete's Used Cars on Boulder Highway. Findlay's son, Cliff Findlay, now spearheads the auto group. | UPDATE 1-GKN Q3 pretax steady, but uncertainty remains - Reuters Posted: 14 Oct 2009 11:23 PM PDT * Posts Q3 pretax profit of 36 mln stg ($58 mln) * Sales dip 3 percent to 1.1 bln stg * Net debt stood at 374 mln stg * Says good progress continues with restructuring programme (Adds details) LONDON, Oct 15 (Reuters) - British automotive and aerospace parts maker GKN (GKN.L) posted a pretax profit of 36 million pounds ($58 million) in the third quarter and said considerable uncertainty remains in a number of its markets. "In Automotive, the full impact on vehicle production of the phasing out of a number of incentive schemes in Europe and North America will not become evident for a number of months," it said on Thursday in a trading update. Pretax profit was unchanged from the year earlier, while sales dipped 3 percent to 1.1 billion pounds. The company expects sales in the fourth quarter to be similar to those achieved in the third quarter. Net debt stood at 374 million pounds at the end of September as a result of a rights issue and positive cash flow in the third quarter. It added that good progress continues to be made with its restructuring programme. The website will allow customers to purchase more than 100,000 parts and accessories. It will also allow free shipping on purchases of $75 or more as well as free in-store pickup. The Roanoke, VA-based auto retailer previously operated a similar website called PartsAmerica.com in partnership with CSK Auto. However, it had to close down the website after CSK was acquired by Springfield, MO-based auto retailer O'Reilly Automotive (Nasdaq: ORLY). At that time, Advance Auto only operated an online merchandise lookup feature. In 2007, Advance Auto targeted e-commerce as a potential growth channel. The company now aims to take it to the next level. Last month, the company opened an e-commerce office in Campbell, CA, near Silicon Valley.
